Things to Know
- Renters must be at least 21 years old to rent, and all drivers of the rental must also be 21 or older.
-
All drivers and renters of the rented machine are required to have a legal and valid DOT issued driver’s license from their home state.MI state law states: If your driver’s license is suspended or revoked, you are not allowed to operate a snowmobile.
- Rentals are due back by 9:00 AM sharp on the final day, with a late return fee of $25.00 for every 15 minutes past the deadline, enforced to accommodate subsequent customers.
- Each renter is required to present a valid driver’s license and a credit card in their name at the time of pickup. Even if Damage Coverage is selected, a $500 deposit will be held on the credit card at check-in. If only a debit card is available, a $1000 damage deposit will be held, and you will be required to purchase damage coverage, with no exceptions.
-
Rental rates do not include gas and oil; units must be returned with a full tank of non-ethanol gas, or a $35 service fee plus fuel cost per gallon will be charged.
-
Each rental includes one tank of oil; any additional oil will be the renter’s responsibility. Do not run out of oil! We use only Polaris Blue oil in all of our machines.
- Multi-day rentals must also ensure the inspection of carbides, which can be facilitated by The Toy Shop staff during business hours.
- Open trailers are not allowed unless the sled is fully covered, while enclosed trailers or those with salt shields are acceptable; a $75 cleaning fee will be applied for sleds trailered without proper covering.
- The Toy Shop reserves the right to substitute rental units due to unforeseen circumstances.
What To Bring:
Renters should bring a valid driver’s license and a credit card for a security hold of $500 or $1000 for debit cards. This hold will automatically be released 72 hours after your rental return date.
The optional Damage Coverage operates on a progressive deductible schedule based on the extent of damages incurred:
-Any damages totaling under $1000 will be charged to the card on file, utilizing the security deposit first.
-$1000 deductible out-of-pocket for damages up to $2500,
-$1500 deductible out-of-pocket for damages between $2500.01 and $4500,
-$2000 deductible out-of-pocket for damages exceeding $4500.
Damage Coverage covers damage to the rental machine only (parts and labor). This does not cover any of the following: Theft, submerged machines, liability, medical, death, down time, personal loss coverage, towing, as well as other non-damage related items.
*According to Wisconsin law, individuals born on or after January 1, 1985, are required to complete and pass the Snowmobile Safety Course.
